  Dit artikel gaat over zogenaamde 'Openluchtscholen', een schooltype dat voornamelijk voor kinderen met ademwegziektes bestemd was en zijn bloei in Nederland tussen de Eerste en Tweede Wereldoorlog had. De oprichting van openluchtscholen was in eerste instantie een reactie op de groeiende bedreiging door tuberculose in de industrielanden. Om het probleem bij de wortel aan te pakken wilde men bij de kinderen beginnen. Een holistische benadering was alleen op school mogelijk.
